J.K.Sethi defined two aspects as essential for the proper practice of Vedic Yagya:

First, through their daily practice of the righteous conduct and Sidhi programme, Our Vedic Pandits experience profoundly settled states of awareness. The result is enlivenment of the transcendent source of speech prior to the recitation and performance of Shanti Yagya.

Second, our Vedic Pandits must undergo unique and comprehensive training over several years. Guruji worked closely with the most revered master pandits from across India in order to refine and institute the perfect education of Vedic Pandits. Definition and use of a Shanti Yagya (Vedic sacrifice)

Yagya, is an act by which we surrender something for the sake of the gods. Such an act must rest on a sacred authority (āgama), and serve for man's salvation. The nature of the gift is of less importance. It may be cake (puroḍāśa), pulse (Karu), mixed milk (sāṃnāyya), an animal (paśu), the juice of soma-plant (some), etc; the smallest offerings of butter, flour, and milk may serve for the purpose, sacrifice for malefic planets like The Sun, The Moon, Rahu/Ketu, Sani,Jupiter, Mars, Venus (depend on ones birth cart).

Vedic (Shrauta) yajnas are typically performed by two to four priests Brahmin as per nature of Yahya..

There were usually one, or three, fires lit in the center of the offering ground. Oblations are offered into the fire.

Among the ingredients offered as oblations in the Yagya are ghee, milk, grains, cakes and soma. The duration of a yajna depends on its type, some last only a few minutes.whereas, others are performed over a period of hours, days or even months.

Some yajnas were performed privately, In other cases, yajnas were symbolic, such as in the Brihadaranyaka Upanishad hymn 3.1.6, where "the mind is the Brahmin of sacrifice" and the goal of sacrifice was complete release and liberation (moksha).
